The Kiul-Gaya double line project, a significant endeavor aimed at enhancing railway connectivity and efficiency, has been making steady progress. With several key milestones achieved and others targeted, the project is poised to bring about transformative changes to the region's transportation landscape.

Overview

The project, which was allotted to IRCON by the Railway Board in December 2015, has been progressing according to a meticulously planned timeline. Year-wise targets have been set to ensure timely completion and operationalization of different sections of the double line.

Completed works

Among the notable achievements, the section from Manpur Junction to Wazerganj covering a distance of 20.34 kilometers was successfully commissioned in December 2019, marking a significant step forward in the project's implementation. Subsequently, the stretch from Wazerganj to Tilaiya Junction was commissioned in September 2022, further consolidating the project's progress.

Recent work

More recently, on 1st September 2023, the segment spanning from Sheikhpura Junction to Kashi Chak, covering a distance of 15.4 kilometers, was commissioned, adding another feather to the project's cap. This achievement underscored the relentless efforts and dedication of all stakeholders involved in the project's execution.

Update

Furthermore, the Luckeesarai Junction to Sheikhpura Junction section was commissioned in February 2023, followed by the Kashi Chak to Warisale Ganj segment in January 2024. These milestones exemplify the project's forward momentum and its transformative impact on the region's railway infrastructure.

Future works

Looking ahead, the project is poised to achieve additional milestones with the completion of the Warsaliganj to Nawada section expected in April 2024. Following this, the Nawada to Tilaiya Junction segment is anticipated to be finalized within the subsequent 2-3 months. These upcoming targets reaffirm the project's commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering on its objectives.
